The work of Dolly Petyarre Mills shows delicate patterning and subtle colours which depicts her country, Alhalker situated in the Utopia region north east of Alice Springs. The major subject of her work is in association with the Yam (Anaty) Dreaming and Emu Tucker (Ankerr) Dreaming. Aboriginal food has a significant role in indigenous art as the knowledge of where to find food, essential for survival, is enshrined in Dreaming stories. These stories are passed down by the Aboriginal Elders.
