This artwork is part of a special slideshow feature for the fundraising auction Ochre: Supporting Indigenous Health through Art at Mossgreen Auction House, Melbourne Australia. This is olden days painting. It is Jilamara – olden style body painting. The painting shows Tapalinga (which means star). In the past times people wore head bands shaped like a star during Pukamani ceremony. This painting reminds me of that.
Ochre recognises the NAVA code of practice in acknowledging that Jean Baptiste Apuatimi is represented by Aboriginal and Pacific Art, Sydney.
