“Yipandari” is a small shrubby ground cover that is loosely referred to as “Kangaroo Tucker”. When rains come the shrubs regenerate thus attracting kangaroos which eat the leaves. As the kangaroo is the largest game meat available to the Walpiri people it is an important part of their diet and a highly sought after food staple. The kangaroo tail is the most prized part.
