This Aboriginal artwork is strikingly different from that of other Aboriginal paintings from the Utopia region in Central Australia. The landscape depicted is that of Ampilatwatja aboriginal dictionary button country. The finely dotted landscape is mapping of the country or place the artist has custodianship over. It also reflects all the different bush medicines and bush tucker food available. The beauty of the landscapes comes from a close association with the land, being on it, sitting down on it. The artistic inspiration comes nature, and the a deep understanding of the earth they walk upon.
