painted at Turkey Creek in September 1996 this unique work has a special origin. On a rare trip from her Kimberley country the artist was in Sydney to accompany her exhibition at Cooee gallery. Whilst staying with friends she saw the football match between the teams St George and Manly. She was extremely impressed with the visual spectacle and upon returning to Turkey Creek proceeded to capture her experience on canvas. The work represents a fusion of visual motifs from both worls -country and city. Using abstracted forms the images of landscapes and footballs. The work truly reflect’s the artist’s style in which the subjects and its elements are articulated within a visual field reflecting the landscape. Ochres , soft greys and pinks as always remain the personal signature of this Kimberley Artist
