Sarrita's Water series have been inspired by the different water found throughout Australia, these paintings seek to capture the movement and the colours of this life-giving element. Sarrita listened to her father explain the importance of water to the Aboriginal culture and all human kind.
Aboriginal people feel a spiritual connection to the land, rivers and wetlands. Many river and wetlands are named and linked to creation stories and it is believed to be inhabited by spirit beings.
